Abstract
The article is devoted to the history, principles and methods of geobotanical exploration of the territory of Northern (steppe) Kazakhstan and the steppe part of the shallow settlement. The studied territory of Kazakhstan occupies a large area and botanical and geographical research, starting from the pre-revolutionary period, continues to this day. Thanks to these works, multi-volume works appeared, maps were created. The work provides a table reflecting a systematic analysis of the work carried out on the geobotanical zoning of the territory of Kazakhstan as part of the USSR on the work of various authors. But, despite this, this territory needs more local geobotanical zoning, so modern science requires a more thorough, detailed approach to floristic zoning. Although floristic and geobotanical zoning differ in the principles of work, both approaches are combined in the development of integrated or synthetic botanical-geographical zoning. Each type of zoning depends on natural conditions; accordingly, such work requires a systematic analysis of the soil cover, climatic conditions, hydrological nature, etc. The article provides an analysis of the territory study periods, the principles of the work carried out, as well as a more detailed description of the vegetation of the «Buiratau» SNNP by subzone, depending on physical and geographical conditions.
