Abstract

The article is devoted to the theme of parenthood in modern teenage literature. The authors, examining the problem of the relationship between parents and children by the example of Mark Haddon’s novel “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time”, prove that in families with special children the degree of responsibility of adults is higher, since it involves a number of psychological and social problems that go beyond family relationships. The reference to M. Haddon helps not only to see the life of children with developmental features in a new way, but also to understand what difficulties their parents have to overcome, how much they are willing to change and accept the situation.
