Abstract

The article tackles the problem of representation of the theme of justice in the literary texts of the second half of the XIX century (by the material of F. M. Dostoyevsky’s novels “Crime and Punishment”, “The Brothers Karamazov”). The researcher pays special attention to the issue of correlation of the notions “legal proceedings”, “prosecutor’s courtroom speech” in the space of F. M. Dostoyevsky’s literary texts, the analysis of linguistic and stylistic peculiarities of courtroom speeches. The participants of legal proceeding - lawyers, prosecutors - come alive in the pages of the literary text. Personages’ speeches include a wide range of figurative-expressive linguistic means. Studying juridical discourse helps to understand better legal proceeding of the second half of the XIX century, to reveal the image of an author - word-painter, humanist, and psychologist.
