Abstract
The article is devoted to the consideration of the ideological and political aspects of the eco-terrorist activities of new religious movements, mainly the Aum Shinrikyo organization. The destructive activism of neo-religions is considered in the light of the ideology of environmentalism - a politically expressed globalist ideology aimed at combating traditional religions. Considering the destructive activities of Aum Shinrikyo and its leader, Seku Asahara, the authors of the article pay attention to the political goals and plans of this organization, while revealing their religious origins.
