Abstract

Purpose: The complex private stations need to serve as a gateway to the region and a representative living and cultural space of the region. This study aims to derive contributing and improvement plans for urban energization, centering on Korean railway stations, and to find directions for the development of Korean-style Multi-dimensional complex private stations. Method: The study’s scope is targeting three complex private stations in Wangsimni, Yeongdeungpo, and Yongsan, and It analyzes the business overview and the daily average transportation status of boarding and alighting at complex private stations from 2009 to 2018. Also, to investigate changes in surrounding living areas, the changes in single-family houses, apartments, multi-households, and multi-family homes were analyzed by year to analyze the number of populations, households, businesses, workers and housing types in three Haengdang 1-dong, Hangang-ro 3-ga, and Yeongdeungpo-dong. Finally, the implications for the threedimensionalization of the three complex private stations are drawn. Result: The problem is that the development of complex private stations more places emphasis on business feastibility than publicness. The development plan of a complex private station considering the land use plan, the density of buildings, and the relationship with the surroundings should be comprehensively implemented. An environment in which housing and business can be created in a complex private station should be created. It is also necessary to supply cultural facilities and various convenient facilities according to the increase of the resident population.
