Abstract

The article reveals the contribution of I. T. Frolov and B. G. Yudin to working out a value-based approach in relation to biological cognition. The paper traces the development of these problems in the philosophers’ works, identifies the difficulties and contradictive issues that arose and required further study in value, ethic and humanistic aspects. The researchers analyse the key trend of I. T. Frolov’s and B. G. Yudin’s studies - ethical aspects of scientific cognition, in particular, in the sphere of genetic engineering. It is shown that the trend established by I. T. Frolov and B. G. Yudin is still relevant nowadays, especially in the light of modern bioethical problems.
