Abstract
청각장애인은 말소리에서 느껴지는 비언어적 정보를 인식하기 어려우며, 이러한 말소리와 글자 간의 간극으로 인해 글자에 대한 흥미를 갖기 어렵다. 이와 같은 어려움을 인식하고 본 연구에서는 시각적 자극에 대한 말소리의 정보 인식을 알아보고자 하였다. 말소리의 특징을 시각적으로 묘사한 여러 글자의 움직임, 즉 키네틱 타이포그래피를 보여주고 이에 대한 청각장애인의 반응을 심층 조사하였으며 말소리의 음성과 감정 정보를 어떻게 인식하는지 알아보았다. 조사 결과로 청각장애인은 각기 다른 글자 움직임을 통해 목소리 간의 음성과 감정 차이를 분명히 인식할 수 있으며 여러 키네틱 타이포그래피 표현 중 목소리의 높고 낮음에 대한 글자의 수직적 위치 변화에서 음성 정보와 감정 정보를 가장 정확히 인식한다고 나타났다.
