Abstract

Objective: Identification of transported cargo main indicators, which change affects car component of freight railway tariff, and quantitative assessment of this effect (on the example of coal transportation in the Russian Federation). Methods: Econometric modeling, statistical method, analysis, comparative method, system method. Results: Classification of economic indicators, which changes affect car component of freight railway tariff (according to indicators’ main groups), with detailed identification of transported cargo indicators has been developed. On the example of car component of railway tariff for coal transportation in gondola cars in the Russian Federation, the impact of changes in transported cargo indicators on car component of freight railway tariff is estimated. Practical importance: The results obtained can be used to improve tariff policy in the field of freight rail transportation in Russia, for further research in the field of tariff setting on rail transport.
