Abstract

This study examined the effect of environmental concerns and perceptions of negative impacts on tourism development regarding tourists’ environmentally responsible behavior. This study also investigated the mediator role of the perception of negative impacts on tourism development between environmental concerns and tourists’ environmentally responsible behavior. A total of 311 respondents’ data collected in Danang, Vietnam, was used for the data analysis. The results of regression analysis are summarized as follows: i) environmental concerns had a significantly positive effect on environmental responsible behavior; ii) the perception of the negative impact of tourism development has a significantly positive effect on environmentally responsible behavior; iii) the perception of negative impacts on tourism development acts as a mediator in the relationship between environmental concerns and environmentally responsible behavior.
