Abstract

Tehreek khatam-i-Nabuwat 1953 was a remarkable incident in history of Muslims of Pakistan. This ‘Tehreek’ was started by Syed Attaullah Shah Bukhari and his contemporary Muslim leaders against ‘Jamat-i-Ahmadia’ which considered Mirza Ghulam Ahmed to be a prophet. Tehreek Khatm-i-Nabuwat took great impetus within the masses of Pakistan. This research article is aimed at to highlight both the efforts and struggle of Syed Attaullah Shah Bukhari in this Tehreek. Syed Attaullah Shah Bukhari prepared a basis, from where; a well-organized movement could be initiated against the ‘Ahmadis’. His untiring efforts impeded the preaching activities of ‘Ahmadis’. His contribution in ‘Tehreek Khatam-i-Nabuwat’ ultimately paved the way for declaring the ‘Ahmadis’ as Non-Muslims in Islamic Republic of Pakistan in September, 1974.
