Abstract

The aim of the study is to identify the main distributional models of English-language borrowings in the Norwegian economic discourse by the example of several borrowed lexemes. The article examines the influence of the English language on the Norwegian economic discourse and the discourse of crisis management, in particular. It is shown that this type of the Norwegian discourse assumes penetration of a significant amount of English-language borrowings. A semantic-distributive approach is used to clarify the semantics and the main aspects of combinability of English-language borrowings. The semantics of several lexemes is described based on the data of explanatory dictionaries of the English and Norwegian languages. It is noted that, penetrating into the Norwegian economic discourse, the analysed English-language lexemes are adapted to the morphological and phonetic system of the Norwegian language. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the identification of the main distributional formulas characteristic of English-language borrowings in the Norwegian discourse of crisis management being a component of the Norwegian economic discourse. As a result, the main distributional models of functioning of the analysed English-language lexemes have been identified in this type of discourse.
