Abstract
The paper is a continuation of studies of changes in the age structure of the regions of the North-Western Federal District. Since the process of population aging affects not only the population as a whole, but also its various subgroups, the transformation of the age structure of the working age population (20–64 years), consisting of three subgroups: 20–34 years, 35–49 years and 50–64 years, is considered. Some demographic aspects of employment are also analyzed – the age structure of the employed and the age profile of employment in the regions of the North-Western Federal District. The results of the study can be used to harmonize labor market policies.
