Abstract

The article aims to identify artistic and aesthetic originality of the sonnet genre in creative work of poets of the Russian Far Eastern emigre community belonging to the literary and artistic association “Churaevka”. Scientific novelty of the study lies in taking the systematic approach to the material under consideration. The researchers for the first time raise the issue of correlation between traditional and innovative elements in the body of sonnets created by the Churaevka poets. The study involves materials from the State Archives of Khabarovsk Krai and Primorsky Krai. The results of the study have shown that, despite the fact that the Harbin poets were abroad, far away from major centres of the Russian culture and literature, the sonnet in their poetry reveals deep continuity with the Russian poetic tradition, as well as a great potential for self-development.
