Abstract
The article deals with the peculiarities of teaching oral speech and professional foreign-language texts reading for the development of the skills of monologic utterance and abstracting in the course of preparation for the foreign language exam at the military higher education establishment. A set of exercises is proposed for gradual and systemic acquirement of the educational material of the communicative direction on the professional subject matter for ensuring the results of mastering the disciplines “Foreign Language” and “Air Force English”. A sequential algorithm for working out the thematic material for the development of the skills under formation is demonstrated.
