Abstract
Тhe study of the works of Professor Vasily Mikhailovich Manokhin made it possible to identify a number of theses that are still relevant today in the issue of regulating the legal status of scientists in the Russian Federation. Considering this category of persons through the prism of civil service legislation, current problems are identified and an author’s solution is proposed.
