Abstract

The article deals with the peculiarities of the wartime (reserve) officers training during the World War I in the armed forces of the warring parties – the Austro-Hungarian Empire and the Russian Empire. There were considered the issues of manning the officer corps in wartime, the particularities of selection and requirements of candidates, the content and nature of their training. The system of military ranks assigned to candidates for officers (wartime officers) as they undergo professional training and changes that took place in wartime was described.
