Abstract
The article introduces the previously unpublished letter of the Czech literary critic Zinaida Genik-Berezovska (1928-1990), addressed to the professor of the Lviv University Volodymyr Motornyi (1929-2015). The document, consisting of twelve interconnected paragraphs, dated June 29, 1983, covers a topic related to issues of Ukrainian literature in the Czech cultural context (interwar period). It is suggested that this letter, as well as the drafts of V. Motorny’s comments attached to it, could form the basis of a large four-year research paper “Ukrainian-Czechoslovak Literature Relations of the 20-30th years“ (by Z. Henik -Berezovska, V. Motornyi, H. Sivachenko), included in the multivolume edition of “Ukrainian Literature in the Slavic and World Context”. The text of the letter was offered to the attention of readers without changes, with full preservation of its author’s features.
