Abstract

In this study, the controlled mediating effects of work-family balance and mobile device use after work were verified in order to investigate the effect of married female workers' protean career orientation toward career satisfaction based on JD-R theory, WH-R model. Through this, we tried to grasp a single comprehensive model of controlled mediating effects rather than verifying simple mediating effect of work-family balance and simple manipulation effect of mobile device use after work. The results of a study on 278 married female employees who are engaged in domestic manufacturing and major service industries are as follows. First, the protean career orientation has a positive effect on the work-family balance and career satisfaction. Second, the moderated mediation effect on the use of mobile devices after work by work-family balance was proved in the protean career orientation and career satisfaction. Based on the results of this study, implications, limitations of the research and directions for future research were discussed.
