Abstract

Purpose. To analyze the problem of reforming the structure of Russian higher education and the development in this regard the FSES of the fourth generation. Methodology: in the process of writing the following methods were used: analysis, synthesis, system approach, formal-legal. Conclusions. Reforming the system of Russian higher education requires not hasty, tumultuous actions, leading to another destructive dismantling of the existing system, which has a negative impact on the quality of education. Obviously, a preliminary experimental testing of different variants of its step-by-step improvement is necessary, the results of which are subject to an in-depth analysis. It is important to discuss the reform of the national education system not behind the scenes, but as part of a broad public discussion. Scientific and practical significance. The conducted study allows us to draw attention to the problem of Russian higher education reform and the search for a truly sovereign, nationally-oriented education system model.
