Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of public attitudes regarding the assessment of ensuring personal and property security of citizens by the police and the relationship between the perception of the public assessment of the activities of internal affairs bodies and trust in them on the example of the Volgograd region. The publication uses the results of sociological monitoring conducted by the group for the study of public opinion of the Volgograd Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. In the course of sociological research, citizens expressed subjective assessments of their degree of protection from criminal encroachments. The materials of sociological research conducted from 2012 to 2021 form the basis of the study. Using the analysis of socio-demographic characteristics, the links between the gender, age and education of respondents and their attitude to the police, as well as a sense of security from criminal encroachments, were identified. The paper uses the results of sociological studies conducted from 2012 to 2021, which allowed analyzing the image of the police, trust in it and its role in ensuring personal security.
