Abstract

The study aims to describe the methodology of working on step-by-step formation of foreign students’ skills in writing a library-research review paper in scientific style of speech classes. The paper identifies the distinctive features of a library-research review paper, notes the influence of these features on the specifics of formation of foreign students’ skills in writing a secondary text of this genre, describes the stages of working on formation of foreign students’ skills in writing a library-research review paper. The study is novel in that it develops a system of tasks, the implementation of which allows foreign students to form the skills in writing competent library-research review papers in scientific style of speech classes in a successful manner. As a result of the study, it has been found that in order to form the skills in writing a library-research review paper in a successful manner, foreign students need to master the skills of scientific text compression, analysis and critical assessment.
