Abstract

The article touches upon the problems of effective phase redistribution in packed extractors operatingat high continuous phase loadings. A fundamentally new liquid redistributor device is proposed to ensure effective phase distribution at high continuous phase velocity and a high ratio of continuous phase/dispersed phase.The CFD-analysis methods proved the improvement of the uniformity of the dispersed phase distribution and the reduction of the continuous phase backmixing upstream of the redistributor when using the proposedinvention in comparison with the redistribution plates.
