Abstract

Islamic Research Council Cairo and the Islamic Jurisprudence Council Jeddah are two prominent hubs for collective Ijtihād on contemporary issues of Muslim world. This research article analyzes the decisions of the Islamic Research Council Cairo and the Islamic Jurisprudence Council Jeddah on family issues. From the study of the resolutions of both the councils the points that come to light regarding various issues are the Marriage of mental disability person, number of wives, process of the divorce, Inheritance or gift or will for none-Muslim wife, legislation on the family planning and breast milk bank in special connection with Pakistani society.
