Abstract

Bleeding during pregnancy and childbirth is one of the leading causes of maternal mortality. An effective organ-preserving method of treating uncontrolled obstetric bleeding is uterine artery embolization (EMA). The advantages of EMA are the ease of determining the place of bleeding, reducing repeated bleeding from the collaterals, preserving the uterus and, consequently, fertility.
