Abstract
Endocrine surgery is not yet in the register of medical specialties, although there is already a group of surgeons specializing in this treatment of thyroid diseases. In May of this year, Izhevsk hosted the first plenum of the Board of the Association of Endocrine Surgeons, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Izhevsk State Medical Academy. In his welcoming speech, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Faculty Therapy with courses in Endocrinology and Hematology, Rector of the Izhevsk State Medical Academy Alexey SHKLYAEV called the plenum a landmark event that will definitely be useful to the surgical service of the republic.
