Abstract

This study was conducted at the farm of Faculty of Agriculture, Sana'a University during 2007 and 2008 seasons. The objective of the study was to determine the effect of four levels of Bio-fertilizer fertilization (C1=0, C2= 2, C3=4, C4=6) litter/ha, and the effect of two plant populations (D1=5.6, D2=11.2) plant/m2 on the grains yield, and its components of Corn (cultivar Taiz 3). Statistical analysis was done using the experimental design was Block Plot Design with three replicates. The results showed that the bio-fertilizer treatments have significant effect as second treatment ( 2 litters/ha) gave higher number of grains per ear and number of grains per row during 2007 and 2008 seasons. That is exceeding in the number of rows per ear and plant height during the first season 2007. While the fourth treatment (6 litters/ha) gave higher ear length, weight of cob, number of leaves per plant and grains yield during 2007 and 2008. However, during 2007 season, it resulted in higher ear diameter than in 2008 . The results also showed interaction between Bio-fertilizer treatments and plant population on ear length, ear diameter, number of rows per ear, number of grains per ear and number of grains per row during 2007and 2008 seasons. In addition that effect was on weight of cob, plant height and leaves number per plant during 2007and only grains yield during 2008. The results also showed that there were no significant effect for the plant population on all the studied properties except on the number of rows per ear where the second treatment 11.2 plant/m2 gave higher number of rows per ear during 2008 season.
