Abstract

There are many famous academies i.e. Islamic Fiqh Academy India, International Islamic Fiqh Academy, Jeddah and The Islamic Research Academy, al-Azhar, Council of Islamic ideology etc. These academies prepare literature consisting of the solution to the new issues and challenges faced by the Muslims in contemporary idiom and style. Similarly, Islamic Fiqh Academy (India) was established for the purpose of searching for Shar̒ia solutions to new problems, bringing scholars on single platform and for collective observation and debate on contemporary issues, following the middle path and collective ijtihad. As well as Islamic Fiqh Academy (India) has to review the solutions regarding family problems, especially Nikāḥ ,Ṭallāq and Khulʿ. This article studies the Resolutions and Recommendations of Islamic Fiqh Academy (India) on mentioned issues. It shows that the mentioned academy has brought forward the opinions of authoritative scholars in solving modern problems faced by common Muslims. Instead of limiting the specific school of thought, the collection of all schools has been used. The Academy has initiated a new movement of thought and research to consider new problems with a new dimension and to tolerate jurisprudential differences of opinion and giving respect to other scholars to disagree with respect and encouragement. This Academy has established links with international jurisprudential institutions in solving problems and made use of them. It has utilized the jurisprudential and knowledge collection of different schools of thought.
