Abstract
The politician's speech is aimed at contacting the audience and, therefore, must have the necessary skills to convey his thoughts and knowledge to the audience. In this study, we consider the speech behavior of President of the Russian Federation V. V. Putin. In particular, the author examines the strategies and tactics used in the president's speech, which establish the image of a popular and successful politician. The study is based on a retrospective analysis of oratory by the example of V. V. Putin’s speech at the celebration of the Knowledge Day with pupils and teachers of the “Sirius” educational center for gifted children, a press conference on December 19, 2013, and an interview to the French newspaper “Le Monde” in 2012.
