Abstract

The article deals with the problem of future vocal teachers training for performing. The authors focus on the psychological readiness to public performance, which issubjectively perceived as a stressful situation requiring psychological, emotional strength and conation. The study points the significant role of the psychological state for the singer, due to his/her reflection on the phonation and singing aspects, the degree of emotional expressiveness and artistic perfection in the creation of musical images. The authors analyze the works of music psychologists and personalities of theatrical and musical artists in relation to factors of unsatisfactory psychological state of performers. The study describes the features of productive and excessive unproductive creative stage fright, as well as their causes. The authors provide with three groups of determinants of the personal mental condition in future teachers: functional; motivational and characterological; and operational. The special attention is paid to the following performance types: performances in form of academic reports, contests, concerts and other educational events, pedagogical illustrative methods as well as students’ entertainment. The participation in these activities is significantly different concerning responsibility for the performance quality and the possible consequences. It has been pointed out how significant it is to choose the repertoire for the performance corresponding to the vocalist’s capabilities, to apply the behavioral exercises emulating the "situation of success", business and vocal improvisation games in order to improve students’ psychological state in performing.
