Abstract
The article provides the selective analysis of the Russian and English verbs of the lexico-semantic group luminescence. the research material includes the basic verbs representing the basic components of the concept luminescence. By analyzing the definitions of the mentioned verbs the author identifies their basic and optional components and concludes that the verbs “светить” and “shine” represent the components of the concept structure, but at the same time the components represent in their own way the different fragments of the concept luminescence.
