Abstract

In 112 schoolchildren from the city of Surgut: group I with normal body weight (n = 68), group II – overweight and obese (n = 44), the concentrations of pituitary thyroid stimulating hormone (TTG), free triiodothyronine (T3) and free thyroxine (T4) in blood serum by enzyme immunoassay methods, as well as the content of iodine in hair by AES-ICP and MS-ICP methods. Signifi cantly higher concentrations of TSH (p < 0,001) in combination with lower T3 (p = 0,047) and iodine (p = 0,027) were found in overweight and obese schoolchildren from the northern region.
