Семантика об’єкта каузативної ситуації в пермісивних та прохібітивних конструкціях в англійській та українській мовах (на матеріалі дієслів to let / to prohibit та дозволяти / забороняти).

Abstract

The article is devoted to the research of object semantics in permissive and prohibitive causative constructions. The research is based on the study of constructions with English (to let / to prohibit) and Ukrainian (дозволяти / забороняти) verbs which perform the function of causative link verbs in the sentence. The article defines the linguistic status of permissive and prohibitive causative constructions within the theory of causativity and its correlation with imperative constructions. Also, the inventory of objects which can be found in permissive and prohibitive causative constructions is established.
