Abstract

The article presents an analysis of the shipboard practice experience of cadets of the Institute of Naval Forces of the National University “Odesa Maritime Academy” on the training ship of the Republic of Poland. The author of the article, during the review of the subject area of this research, indicated the reserves in the regulatory and legal base of practical training of higher education applicants. Thanks to this, the author of the article, using the method of comparing two approaches to the practical component of the educational process of training future officers for the Naval Forces of the Republic of Poland and Ukraine, discovered the most successful practices and methods that make sense to introduce into the educational process of training a military sailor. The description of the research results was divided into stages in accordance with the logical and slender structure of ship practice on a training ship. This made it possible to carry out a critical analysis of each stage and, using the acquired experience, to outline positive practices in the practical component of cadet training, which will eventually allow to improve the quality of training of cadets specializing in “ship power installations” at the Department of ship energy and electric power systems and at the Institute of the Navy in the future as a whole upon completion of the research, the author of the article, in the conclusions, clearly outlined directions for improving the practical component of the training of cadets of the Institute of the Naval Forces and suggested ways of further research on this topic.
