Abstract
Elvira T. Kostousova (Ural State Forest and Technological University, Ekaterinburg, Russian Federation) The article analyzes the context of L. Tolstoy’s novel «War and Peace» and its translation into German, performed by B. Conrad in 2010. It is considered the contextual descriptions of smile implication. According to the author, a smile phenomenon in the novel serves as a means of emotional expression and transmission of information on the surrounding reality. It has been distinguished the features of the translation of metaphorical description of a smile in the German language. Key words : smile, emotions, semantics, metaphor translation .
