Abstract

The article provides examples of the use of thermal space images in hydrological studies to identify areas of increased underground runoff on water regions of the Tver region. In this work, foreign satellite images Landsat 5 and Landsat 8 in the thermal far infrared range were used. The description of the hydrogeological and hydrological conditions of the studied area is also given here. Special attention was paid to the minimum flow of the Upper Volga rivers during the inter-war period, which characterizes the underground flow of the studied river basin. The results of these scientific surveys can be useful for hydrogeologists and hydrologists engaged in similar problems. Thermal space not in all cases may be effective in solving such hydrological problems.
