Abstract
У статті розглянуті документи (надання маєтностей у володіння та розмежувальний акт), які дають змогу виявити та вирішити систематичну помилку в ідентифікації двох населених пунктів Львівської землі Руського воєводства – сіл Женів та Шанів. Обоє в науковій літературі часто ототожнюються, хоча у другій половині XVI ст. мали різних власників. За допомогою першого акту з’ясовано, що надана у 1566 (повторно у 1569 р.) Захарії Стефановичу пустка Женево незадовго після цього стала селом Женів. Завдяки другому джерелу (акту розмежування 1548 р.) було окреслено приблизне місце розташування села Шанів (між селами Дмитровичі і Глуховичі), який занепав у першій чверті XVII ст. Таким чином, наше дослідження демонструє, наскільки важливим є використання актових матеріалів (а конкретно, вищеозначених різновидів, які акумулюють інформацію про топоніми) для відтворення мережі населених пунктів та встановлення їх розташування у ситуації, коли картографічні матеріали відсутні. Стаття супроводжується публікацією фрагменту акту розмежування 1548 р., надання пустки Женево у 1566 р. та люстрації пустки Шанів 1628 р.
Highlights
The article deals with the documents, that allow to identify and resolve a systematic error in the identification of two settlements in L’viv land of Rus’ Voivodeship – the villages of Zheniv (Żeniów) and Shaniv (Szaniów), which are often equated in the scientific literature
Shaniv was located between the villages of Dmytrovychi and Glukhovychi on the site of the later placed settlement of Ostriv (Ostrów [Szaniowski])
The article is accompanied by the publication of the act of demarcation (1548), the granting of the Zheniv wasteland (1566), and the lustration of the Shaniv wasteland (1628)
Summary
Thanks to the second source (the demarcation act of 1548 of the private estates of the Czebrowski family and the crown village of Shaniv, lease-holded by Pieczychojski), the approximate location of Shaniv was identified. Our study demonstrates how important it is to use the acts (especially, ones that accumulate toponym information) to reproduce a network of settlements and locate it in a situation, where there is no maps.
