Abstract

The article for the first time examines the collegial principle as a basis for the formation of power bodies in the period of the Russian Provisional Government. The author analyses forms of inter-party cooperation and shows the interaction of parties in bodies of power. The participants of 1917 political process considered the collegial principle as a guarantee of democratic power. Considerable influence of the Mensheviks in social democratic organizations of Tambov province contributed to preserving relative political peace in pre-October period and thereafter.
