Abstract
Environmental aesthetics, or aesthetics of environment represents one of the most recent in constitution and one of the most dynamic subdisciplines of contemporary aesthetic discourse. Chinese ecological aesthetics has become a complex and original set of ideas, which is of great importance for other cultures, including Russian, due to the scale of environmental problems that China has recently faced in connection with economic growth, as well as the applicability of ways to solve them in Russian conditions. For these reasons, the author of this article offers a historical and theoretical analysis of the content of the concepts of modern Chinese ecological aesthetics, developed on the basis of A.N. Whitehead's theory of procedural understanding of nature, Marxist dialectics and traditional Chinese philosophy.
