Abstract
The article studies the natural and legendary aspects of the literary space of Germany in the poem by I. P. Myatlev “Sensations and Comments by Madame Kurdyukova Abroad, Dans L’etranger”. The natural space is in the form of refined landscape that travesties the image of the natural German landscape in the romantic tradition. The legendary space connected with the Rhine locus is inscribed in the natural one and shows ambivalent features at the junction of the German and Russian characters. The work also shows the relationship of the German figurativeness of the poem by I. P. Myatlev with Karamzin tradition previously weakly represented in literary criticism.
