Abstract
The article considers the factors of influence on labor safety in underground coal mining in Russia. It was analyzed that most coal deposits are highly gas-bearing. The main works devoted to carrying out early degassing were considered, studies aimed at the development of coal deposits and the production of coal-bed methane were considered. Basic principles have been developed to ensure safety in underground coal mining. An economic one has been created, due to which the risks of sudden methane emissions and explosions in mines will be reduced, which will ensure an innovative path for the development of the Russian coal industry in the long term.
