Abstract

The study aims to create a classification based on the parallel fragments analysis of Du Fu’s poem “The song of watching the sword dance of Mrs. Gong Sun’s disciple”. The scientific novelty of the study lies in using the training version of immediate constituents analysis in relation to the new language material, i.e., the specified work by Du Fu. Due to the large number of lines, the poem is divided by us into three parts containing eight lines and the ending. The results show that in each of the three parts, the fragments parallel in the horizontal and vertical directions amount to 17.8% and 64.29%; 35.71% and 57.14%; 25% and 48.21%, respectively. Thus, vertical symmetry dominates in the work under consideration. In particular, this is due to the fact that most of the fragments symmetrical in the horizontal direction have a local character. The role of parallel fragments as a means of coherence between the three parts of the poem was investigated. In the text of the entire poem, parallel fragments make up 70.88% of the 182 characters.
