Abstract

Th e article discusses the feasibility of including mineral re- source centers of Russia (as independent objects) in the sys- tem of territorial planning and management. Th e problematic aspects of the mission of mineral resource centers as areas of accelerating economic growth are revealed. Th e imperatives of MSC development in the conditions of reorientation of Russian export fl ows to the East are formulated. Th e place of strategies and programs of mineral resource centers in the national plan- ning system and in the hierarchy of planning documents is de- termined. Th e question was raised about the creation of special planning and development coordination bodies for mineral re- source centers at the level of the country's regions.
