Pneumonia is a respiratory disease that often requires a holistic approach in hospitals. The psychosocial aspects of holistic care play an important role in the recovery and well-being of patients with pneumonia. However, attention to psychosocial care for pneumonia patients, especially in nursing documentation, is still limited. This study aims to describe the implementation of psychosocial nursing care documentation in a government general hospital using a secondary data analysis approach. This research is a descriptive cohort retrospective study with a sample of 179 medical records selected using a purposive sampling technique. The instrument used is a checklist sheet for the Implementation of Psychosocial Nursing Care Documentation in Pneumonia Patients. Data analysis was carried out univariately and presented in the form of a frequency distribution table. The results showed that the completeness of nursing care documentation was 97.20% incomplete and 2.80% complete. These findings indicate that the implementation of psychosocial nursing care documentation in pneumonia patients has not been carried out completely. However, the assessment and recording of patient identity by nurses has been done well. Therefore, efforts to improve the implementation of psychosocial nursing care and documentation need to be made to improve holistic services for patients, especially those with pneumonia.

Environmental hygiene in university settings has become a critical issue in rapidly urbanizing regions such as Aceh Besar. This study aims to examine the determinants of hygiene behavior among university students, focusing on four key factors: hygiene education, peer influence, availability of hygiene facilities, and personal awareness. A quantitative approach was employed using the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) as the conceptual framework. Data were collected from 30 purposively selected students residing in Aceh Besar through a structured questionnaire, which was validated through pilot testing and measured using a Likert scale. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, and multiple linear regression. The results revealed that personal awareness and hygiene education were the most significant predictors of hygiene behavior, followed by peer influence and access to sanitation facilities. Although individual hygiene practices such as handwashing showed a high level of compliance (74%), participation in communal hygiene initiatives remained low (34%). These findings indicate that strengthening internal motivation and structured hygiene education may be more effective in promoting sustainable hygiene practices than infrastructure improvements alone. The study provides practical implications for university policy development, environmental health promotion, and the design of behavior-based educational interventions.

Inflammation is a natural response triggered by the body’s immune system to defend against infection or tissue injury. Common signs of inflammation include swelling, warmth, pain, and redness. Natural remedies such as honey and propolis derived from stingless bees contain bioactive compounds that may help regulate inflammation and enhance immune function. This study aimed to investigate the potential anti-inflammatory effects of a combination of honey and propolis from the stingless bee species Heterotrigona itama. In the experiment, mice were injected with a 1% carrageenan solution into their left hind paw to induce inflammation. The paw thickness was then measured using a plethysmometer at 30-minute intervals over a period of 120 minutes. The difference in paw thickness before and after the carrageenan injection was recorded. The formulations containing honey and propolis showed a noticeable anti-inflammatory effect, indicated by a reduction in swelling and a return to the paw’s original size. These findings suggest that the combination of honey and propolis from stingless bees has anti-inflammatory properties in male mice (Mus musculus) with the highest anti-inflammatory activity of 90.34%.

Indonesia’s pharmaceutical industry faces a heavy reliance on imported raw materials, highlighting the need to explore sustainable local alternatives. Microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) is a fine, white, odorless, biodegradable powder derived from cellulose, widely used in pharmaceutical formulations as a filler and dry binder in tablet production due to its excellent compressibility and flow properties. In this study, Crateva magna DC., locally known as Tigarun, was investigated as a novel source of MCC. The research aimed to isolate and characterize MCC from Tigarun leaf fibers. The process involved alkali treatment, bleaching, and acid hydrolysis, resulting in α-cellulose with a yield of 35.43%, from which MCC was produced with a high yield of 84.27%. The isolated MCC was then evaluated for its physicochemical properties, including organoleptic characteristics, solubility, melting point, and pH. Results indicated that the MCC from Tigarun exhibited a white to light brown crystalline powder, was odorless and tasteless, and showed positive qualitative identification through color change to violet-blue with zinc iodide reagent. The product was insoluble in water, ethanol, hydrochloric acid, and ether, and only slightly soluble in sodium hydroxide 1N. The melting point was recorded at 260°C, with a pH value of 6. These characteristics are comparable to those of commercial MCC (Avicel® PH 101), suggesting the feasibility of Tigarun as a viable local raw material for pharmaceutical excipients.

The growing demand for natural ingredients in cosmetics has driven the development of innovative formulations, including peel-off gel masks. This study aims to determine the optimal concentration of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) required to develop a peel-off gel base that meets acceptable physical quality standards.. Three formulas (F1: 12%, F2: 14%, F3: 16% PVA) were prepared and subjected to physical quality tests including organoleptic properties, homogeneity, pH, viscosity, spreadability, adhesiveness, and drying time. All formulas met the physical quality standards for gel masks. However, Formula 2 showed the most optimal balance in spreadability, adhesiveness, and viscosity. Statistical analysis revealed that variations in PVA concentration significantly influenced viscosity and adhesiveness but not pH or spreadability. All peel-off gel mask base formulas with variations in PVA concentration have met the physical quality requirements, including organoleptic test, homogeneity, pH, adhesion, spreadability, and viscosity.

Public awareness of personal health has increased significantly, yet the extent to which this awareness translates into behavioral changes particularly physical activity remains underexplored. This study investigates whether health consciousness affects physical activity directly or indirectly through dietary behavior and a healthy lifestyle as mediating variables. A quantitative approach using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) was applied, involving 43 parents of 9th-grade students from two private junior high schools in Surakarta and Karanganyar. The model comprises four latent constructs health consciousness, dietary behavior, healthy lifestyle, and physical activity measured using 12 indicators. Assessment of the model included convergent validity, discriminant validity, reliability, and model fit. Results reveal that health consciousness significantly influences dietary behavior (β = 0.430; p = 0.022) and healthy lifestyle (β = 0.614; p < 0.001), but has no significant direct or indirect effect on physical activity (p > 0.05). The R² value for physical activity is low (9.9%), indicating limited explanatory power. A discriminant validity issue was identified between dietary behavior and healthy lifestyle (HTMT = 0.935), and the SRMR value (0.130) suggests suboptimal model fit. These findings indicate a gap between health awareness and actual engagement in physical activity. While health-conscious individuals tend to adopt healthier dietary and lifestyle patterns, this awareness alone does not appear sufficient to promote increased physical activity. Additional structural or psychological support may be needed to translate awareness into consistent action.
