Em tempos coloniais, carregando as contradições que esse período histórico implicava, Leonel Cosme e Garibaldino de Andrade puseram, a partir da Huíla, as bases para a circulação da literatura angolana. A Colecção Imbondeiro (68 volumes) foi a mais prolífica série da editora. O projeto editorial gerou polémicas entre as franjas polticizadas das elites culturais anticoloniais e chamou a atenção da PIDE, que vigiou, censurou e reprimiu o projeto. Fou encerrado em 1965, após a apreensão massiva de exemplares e material de impressão pela PIDE. Neste texto, apresentam-se os resultados da pesquisa entre arquivos e fontes literárias, sobre um dos primeiros projetos editorias de grande alcance impresso em solo angolano antes da Independência. Discutem-se as razões da sua recepção diminuta na Angola pós-colonial, relacionadas com as suas ideias sobre o futuro do país.

Numa relação intertextual com Nós Matámos o Cão Tinhoso, Nós Chorámos pelo Cão Tinhoso reproduz um episódio da leitura emocionante do conto moçambicano na aula de português num Angola pós-colonial. Verifica-se uma memória colonial moçambicana encaixada na memória pós-colonial angolana. O presente artigo tem como objetivo estudar a estória Nós Chorámos pelo Cão Tinhoso de Ondjaki a partir da intertextualidade com o conto Nós Matámos o Cão Tinhoso de Luís Bernardo Honwana, tentando descobrir como a reescrita ondjakiana desenvolve novas significações em diálogo com o conto original. No âmbito do pós-colonialismo, a questão da memória coletiva da dominação colonial como um discurso interventivo anticolonialista também será abordada.

The representation of the death of Angola’s first president in Portuguese newspapers can help understanding the character of the angolan poet, as well as providing elements to understand Portugal at that time and its relation with Angola.

In 2019, we carried out a series of interviews with various actors in the cultural field in Angola. On that occasion, as part of doctoral research carried out at the State University of Campinas (IEL/UNICAMP), our intention was to map the contemporary cultural framework in Angola. This research was part of our thesis, defended in 2022. Based on this material, we intend, in this text, to take the interviews carried out to draw an analytical framework about the literary movements currently undertaken by Angolan civil society, in addition to problematizing the challenges that still face those who wish to publish literary works in the country and analyze State policy for Culture.

Postcolonial studies emerge as theories that expose and question the historical, philosophical, literary, economic and other impacts arising from colonialism. Thus, approaches endowed with decolonization and a self-representation of narratives that were previously presented from a Eurocentric, stereotypical and exclusionary perspective stand out. The present work aims to study literary production from post-colonial and decolonial criticism, based on the writing of Nigerian Buchi Emecheta in As alegrias da maternidade. To this end, we sought to highlight the points of contact between the theoretical contributions and Emecheta's narrative, especially through excerpts and characters. Furthermore, the results obtained highlight the female perspective according to the decolonial perspective: in a path of decolonization and reflection on the themes of motherhood, blackness, the sense of belonging and other aspects in African literature.

The article proposes an analysis of the novel Whites can dance too (2018), by Angolan Kalaf Epalanga, as an artistic-literary product of a historical and identity reflection on truths defined according to a colonial dichotomy between tradition and modernity, autochthonous culture and occidental culture. Kalaf is a representative of an Angolan generation born in times of independence, during a civil war, witness to a disillusionment regarding the project of the nation dreamed of during the period of colonial struggle. It is also – and perhaps for this reason – a generation that resumed contacts with Portugal and the Occident, that also understood itself to be part of a globalist project, especially from the popularization of new digital technologies, and that, once in Lisbon, experienced a face of Lisbon life that is the portrait of a diasporic experience. The novel, being the product of all these reflections and experiences, is a portrait of a new Angolan time and its rethought cultural representations.

O objetivo desse artigo é propor uma análise da fortuna crítica de Nga Mutúri: Cenas de Luanda (1881-1882), breve obra ficcional de Alfredo Troni. Inicialmente publicada nos folhetins da imprensa de Luanda e de Lisboa no último quartel do século XIX, essa obra obteve um certo destaque aquando da sua redescoberta e publicação em volume quase cem anos mais tarde. Partindo da reconstrução da história do texto, a análise passa a abarcar as leituras que suscitou, principalmente a maneira como a partir dele têm sido problematizadas tanto a representação da sociedade luandense coeva, insistindo sobre o mito luso-tropicalista da crioulidade, como a sua integração no sistema literário angolano.
