The article considers methodical and practical approaches to determining the level of competitiveness of an enterprise as a prerequisite for its strategic development. The article identifies various approaches to assessing the competitiveness of enterprises, in particular in the context of the service sector: indicative method, hierarchy analysis method, competitive advantages, expert assessments, taxonomy of integral assessments, matrix methods, and others. The importance of taking into account internal and external factors, as well as a combination of quantitative and qualitative indicators to obtain an objective assessment is separately noted. An algorithm for a general plan for assessing competitiveness is proposed. The most objective results can be achieved through the combined use of various methods, which allows taking into account all relevant aspects of the enterprise.
