Müllerian development anomalies encompass a heterogeneous group of congenital malformations of the female reproductive tract, resulting from failures in the fusion, canalization, or resorption of the Müllerian ducts. Among them, the longitudinal vaginal septum (LVS) is a rare entity characterized by the partial or complete division of the vaginal cavity into two compartments. Diagnosis can be challenging due to its frequently asymptomatic course or delayed presentation with dysmenorrhea, dyspareunia, or obstetric complications. This report describes the case of a 16-year-old adolescent who was presented with abnormal uterine bleeding and loss of consciousness following recent onset of sexual activity. Clinical evaluation and gynecological ultrasound revealed an incomplete LVS with tearing and intracavitary debris. An emergency surgical procedure was performed, including uterine curettage, vaginal repair, and septum resection, with a favorable postoperative course and no anatomical sequelae. LVS requires a multidisciplinary approach integrating clinical assessment, imaging studies—preferably magnetic resonance imaging, which is considered the diagnostic gold standard—and individualized surgical treatment. Timely diagnosis is essential to prevent complications, preserve gynecological health, and improve the quality of life of affected patients.

The objective of this research was to determine the relationship between digital marketing, brand positioning, and customer loyalty in the fuel retail sector in a city in Peru. The study was applied in nature, with a quantitative approach, non-experimental design, and correlational level. Data collection was carried out through three questionnaires administered to 384 customers of a fuel retail company. The results showed a significant relationship between digital marketing and brand positioning, as well as customer loyalty, with a p-value of .000. This indicated that digital marketing had a notable influence on both aspects. However, Spearman’s correlation coefficient (Rho = .360** for brand positioning and .331 for customer loyalty) revealed that, although the relationship was positive, its strength was weak. In conclusion, digital marketing had a positive, though limited, impact on brand positioning and customer loyalty.

This study analyzes the relationship between liquidity risk and stock return volatility, focusing on the influence of female participation on boards of directors and in senior management. The sample includes 69 large Chilean companies listed on the Santiago Stock Exchange between January 2020 and March 2023. Using panel data methodology and five multidimensional indicators of liquidity risk (Relative Quoted Spread, Coefficient of Elasticity of Trading, Share Turnover, Amihud Illiquidity, and Market Efficiency Coefficient), the results show that female representation on boards of directors is significantly associated with reduced liquidity costs and greater market efficiency. In contrast, women in executive roles are linked to higher stock return volatility, suggesting differentiated approaches to risk management. These findings highlight the strategic relevance of gender diversity in corporate governance, providing evidence that inclusive leadership can strengthen market performance and investor confidence in emerging economies.

Periodontal disease, a chronic inflammatory condition affecting the supporting tissues of the teeth, has shown significant links with various systemic diseases. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between the severity of periodontitis and the presence of systemic conditions in patients treated at the dental clinics of Universidad San Gregorio de Portoviejo, Ecuador. A cross-sectional observational study was conducted with a sample of 301 patients. Clinical and systemic health data were collected, and the clinical attachment level (CAL) was used as an indicator of periodontal severity. Statistical analysis included non-parametric tests, such as the Chi-square test and the Mann-Whitney test with Bonferroni correction. The results showed a significant association between the presence of systemic diseases and increased periodontal severity (p < 0.001). Specifically, patients with hypertension presented greater clinical attachment loss compared to those without systemic conditions (adjusted p = 0.00063). Although patients with comorbid diabetes and hypertension also exhibited more severe periodontal involvement, this difference was not statistically significant after correction (adjusted p = 0.072). It is concluded that arterial hypertension may act as an aggravating factor in the progression of periodontitis. However, cross-sectional design limits causal inference; therefore, longitudinal studies are recommended to further investigate the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying this association.

This study aimed to analyze the role of microbiology in contemporary dental practice. A systematic review was conducted in the PubMed and SciELO databases, including publications between 2013 and 2024. Out of 310 initial records, 25 studies were selected that met the established inclusion criteria. The results showed that Staphylococcus aureus exhibits high resistance to commonly used antibiotics such as penicillin and erythromycin, which highlights the need to revise prescription protocols. Likewise, a bidirectional association between systemic diseases (diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular diseases) and oral pathologies was confirmed, underscoring the need for an interdisciplinary clinical approach. In vulnerable populations, the consumption of psychoactive substances was associated with a higher prevalence of caries, periodontitis, and bruxism, which requires tailored interventions aligned with public health policies. Complementarily, probiotics—particularly Lactobacillus reuteri—demonstrated potential as regulators of the oral microbiome, although further clinical evidence is needed to support their widespread use. It is concluded that microbiology and biosafety should be consolidated as cross-cutting pillars in both dental practice and education, fostering a preventive, comprehensive, interdisciplinary approach to dentistry that promotes not only oral health but also overall well-being.

One of the functions of public health management is to evaluate the quality of care and user satisfaction in order to identify deficient areas, reduce obstacles that affect primary care, and improve the user experience, with the aim of building a system that fosters trust and increases satisfaction. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the relationship between Quality of Care (QC) and User Satisfaction (US) in a health center in Áncash, Peru. It employed a quantitative approach, of a basic type, with a non-experimental, cross-sectional design and a descriptive-correlational level. A total of 131 users were surveyed using two questionnaires. Statistical analysis yielded a p-value < .05, evidencing a statistically significant relationship, and a Spearman’s Rho = .741, which revealed a strong positive correlation. The study concluded that quality of care and its dimensions are correlated with user satisfaction; as quality of care improves in the health center studied, user satisfaction tends to increase, and vice versa.

The article examines the challenges of educational inclusion for students with special educational needs (SEN) not associated with disabilities in traditional school settings, where limitations persist in teacher training, family involvement, and access to resources. The study was conducted at the “Costa Azul” Educational Unit in Manta, Ecuador, using a mixed-method approach and an exploratory-descriptive design. A total of 90 teachers, 80 students, and 4 experts participated through the application of questionnaires, interviews, and structured classroom observations. Findings reveal that while teachers hold a positive view of inclusive strategies, their implementation remains partial and limited, focusing primarily on material adaptation. Gaps were identified between pedagogical discourse and actual practice, particularly in integrating students with SEN into the broader classroom dynamic. Creative teaching strategies show promise for advancing educational equity, but their effectiveness depends on differentiated planning, active methodologies, and an institutional culture genuinely committed to inclusion.
