We report a rare case of Vieussens’ arterial ring to main pulmonary artery fistula in patient with chest pain who underwent computed tomography (CT) coronary angiography. This case highlights a rare type of coronary-pulmonary artery fistula and role of CT angiography in detecting such anomalies which carry important hemodynamic implications. It is imperative to treat such complicated cardiovascular anomalies to avoid possible long-term clinical consequences.

Schuurs–Hoeijmakers syndrome is a very rare disease entity presenting as a neuro-developmental disorder with dysmorphic facies and a host of non-specific phenotypes. The diagnosis of this autosomal dominant disorder is made by genetic testing based on high clinical suspicion. Little is known about the radiological findings in such children. Here, we show a case of a 7-year-old boy diagnosed by whole exome sequencing and portray the various radiological and clinical findings that he presented with.

Sinking skin flap syndrome is a rare condition in which neurological deterioration is seen following a large craniectomy. Patients present with sensorimotor deficits and altered mental status which may be difficult to distinguish clinically from other causes of neurological deterioration in post-craniectomy patients. The radiologist’s role is critical in such cases for early detection and prompt initiation of treatment. We present a case of sunken skin flap syndrome in a 66-year-old man following a large craniectomy done for a stroke.

Chronic sclerosing sialadenitis or Küttner tumor is a benign chronic inflammatory disease of the salivary gland, most commonly involving the submandibular salivary gland in middle aged adults. We describe the magnetic resonance imaging features of a rare case of Küttner tumor with isolated parotid gland involvement in a child, to emphasize on the need for increased awareness among radiologists regarding the possibility and imaging features of this condition, and to enable its timely diagnosis and appropriate management.

Pancreaticopleural fistulas (PPFs) are a rare and challenging condition in both clinical and diagnostic aspects. It is a rare complication of pancreatitis resulting from pancreatic collections communicating with the pleural cavity. They primarily cause respiratory system symptoms and pleural effusion. We present a case of a 30-year-old male with alcohol-induced pancreatitis presented with 2 months history of shortness of breath and cough. Chest radiograph demonstrated right massive pleural effusion. Repeated thoracentesis showed recurrent hemorrhagic pleural fluid with increased amylase and lipase. Computed tomography revealed no significant cause, and magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography showed a fistulous tract between the pancreas and the right pleural cavity. The patient’s clinical presentation was misleading due to respiratory complaints, and a high clinical suspicion of PPF in recurrent massive hemorrhagic pleural effusion will lead to this diagnosis.

Thyroglossal duct cysts are the most prevalent congenital neck masses originating from thyroglossal duct remnants. Here, we present a case of thyroglossal dust cyst with hoarseness and difficulty breathing. A contrast-enhanced computed tomography scan confirmed the intra-laryngeal extension and airway compromise. Sistrunk procedure along with laryngeal reconstruction was done. Histopathology confirmed thyroid follicles in the cyst wall.

Vascular Ehlers–Danlos syndrome (vEDS) is a rare inherited disorder affecting approximately 1 in 150,000 individuals, caused by heterozygous mutations in the COL3A1 gene. Characterized by primary spontaneous pneumothorax and severe connective tissue fragility, vEDS remains poorly understood clinically, making diagnosis challenging. We present the case of a 20-year-old male with a history of mitral valve prolapse, recurrent hemoptysis, knee joint dislocations, and easy bruising. In February 2023, he was admitted to the emergency department following a seizure, syncope, and altered sensorium, which led to an extensive evaluation of his non-specific symptoms. Ultimately, he was diagnosed with vEDS.

Brunn’s cyst in the region of the bladder neck is a rare cause of lower urinary tract obstruction. This case describes the ultrasonography and computed tomography urography findings of Brunn’s cyst as causing lower urinary tract symptoms and urinary retention.
