The effect of filtration flow on the shape of a body formed by freezing around an isolated freezing column is investigated on the basis of the mathematical model proposed in [1].

The effective thermal conductivity, specific heat and thermal diffusivity of cottonseed on the temperature interval 175–450 K are calculated for fibrosities and moisture contents varying from 0 to 35%.

The optical, rheological, and topological properties of a precursor film, which is created by a drop lying on a surface, were studied by means of ellipsometry. The investigated liquid is glycerin; the investigated substrates were type K8 and KU1 glass. The results are in good qualitative agreement with DLFO theory.

The possibility of creating a two-stage aerodynamic window with a high pressure drop is demonstrated. The window consists of two gas channels with free vortex flow in each of them. It is shown that the gas exchange between the stages can be used efficiently to increase the working pressure drop of the window.

Results are provided of analysis and measurements of heat transfer and temperature fields at the numbers Re1=1·102-2·104 and Pr=5.5–8, depending on the geometry and angles of streamline structure.

We obtain and study an analytical solution for the one-dimensional problem of the filtration of a solution in cracked-porous media with allowance for the dependence of the saturation concentration on the composition of the solution.

An experimental apparatus — a universal vacuum spectrophotometer — is described. It is used for studying the kinetic characteristics of gas-solid phase transitions at low temperatures as well as the spectral reflectances of typical optical surfaces coated with layers of cryocondensates of different gases. A method is proposed for determining the indices of refraction of the cryocondensates, the growth rates of the condensates, and the spectral reflectances.

We theoretically and experimentally study the quasi-stationary thermal regime which arises during periodic pulsed heating by laser radiation.

A mathematical model is obtained for transient mass transfer during the baromem-brane separation of liquids for a flat channel with a semipermeable wall. Hydrated sunflower oil is used as an example to show that the theoretical and experimental time-dependences for the content of the retained material in the concentrate differ insignificantly.
