Industries of Sanduru Taluk: A Historical Overview

Sanduru and Sanduru Environment are located in the Ballari district, often known as the KarthikeyaTapovana. During the Krutayuga, Tretayuga, Dwaparayuga, and Kaliyuga, it went by the names Devagiri, Swarnagiri,Divayachala, and Lohachala. Swami Karthikeya is said to have prayed to Lord Brahmadi's gods for Tarakadi Asura'sdeath.1 Since then, it has served as a natural destination, a place of worship, and an industrial site. Due to the splendourof nature and its natural resources, several enterprises have existed since ancient times. The Ballari ParisaradaSamskrutika Parampare Volume I and the Gazetteer of the Bellary District were used to review all of those industries.

A CONCEPTUAL STUDY ON ARTAVAKSHAYA

God has gifted women with the rare and unique phenomenon of giving rise to a new life. In this universe, only women have been placed in extreme worship places due to her power of Janani. That is why women are considered reflections of God in this world. The female body is one of nature's most beautiful and complex creations. The physiology of the reproductive system of a woman is different from that of her male partner to a great extent, as she has to intersperse the functions of conception and childbirth. Women undoubtedly are the ultimate source of human progeny. To fulfil this aim, nature has conferred unique anatomical and physiological characteristics in the women, collectively called Streekarbhava. One among them is the concept of Rajahpravrutti. In this present era, lifestyle and food habits increased stress, strain and restlessness, which expanded the spread of several menstrual disorders. Artavakshaya is a common one among all these. Artavakshaya has been described by Acharya Sushruta, and the clinical features of Kshaya of all the Doshas, Dhatus, Updhatus and Malas. Thus, it is the description of the deficiency of Artava, which is an Updhatu of Rasadhatu.

COVID-19 Death Risk in Surabaya: Modeling by Spatial Point Process

The total death rate or Case Fatality Rate (CFR) due to COVID-19 in Surabaya is high, that is almost twice of the global CFR (1.4%). Utilization of high-resolution data has the potential to explore COVID-19 cases, not only recording cases at the district or city level but also at the patient’s domicile level so that they can provide more detailed spatial information. Meanwhile, research exploring the risk of death from COVID-19, especially in Surabaya using spatial point process model, has not yet been carried out. In this study, an analysis of the risk of death from COVID-19 in Surabaya will be carried out using the inhomogeneous Poisson point process model with covariates or external factors used including the density of the COVID-19 referral hospital location and the proportion of confirmed COVID-19 population aged > 60 years per districts. Our model shows that referral hospitals (exp( ) = 1.03295) and places of worship (exp( ) = 1.03835) have a significant effect on death risk from COVID-19. So, there is a need for special handling for areas that have a population with a vulnerable age (> 60 years) where at this age the human immune system will decrease.

Pengaruh Perkembangan Seni Kaligrafi Arab Terhadap Budaya di Indonesia

This research discusses the influence of the development of Arabic calligraphy art on culture in Indonesia. The art of Arabic calligraphy, with its beauty and philosophical meaning, has become an integral part of Islamic culture. In Indonesia, Arabic calligraphy is not only considered a form of visual art, but also as an expression of spiritual values ​​and Islamic aesthetic beauty. This research identifies and analyzes the impact of the development of Arabic calligraphy on various aspects of culture in Indonesia. First, Arabic calligraphy art has made a significant contribution to the development of Indonesian fine arts. His influence is visible in the decorative arts, architecture, and other works of art. Arabic calligraphy is not only an aesthetic element, but also a means of conveying religious and spiritual messages. Second, the art of Arabic calligraphy plays an important role in enriching language culture in Indonesia. Many Arabic words used in calligraphy became part of the local vocabulary, creating linguistic synergy between Arab and Indonesian cultures. Third, the art of Arabic calligraphy also has an impact on religious culture in Indonesia. The use of calligraphy in religious contexts, such as in mosques and other places of worship, creates a deeply spiritual environment and adds value to religious practices. Thus, this research details how Arabic calligraphy not only functions as a visual art medium, but also as an agent of cultural and spiritual change in Indonesia. It is hoped that this in-depth understanding of the impact of Arabic calligraphy art can enrich perspectives on cultural dynamics and diversity in Indonesia.

Consecrating the Peripheral: On the Ritual, Iconographic, and Spatial Construction of Sui-Tang Buddhist Corridors

The corridor-enclosed cloister characterized Buddhist monasteries during the Sui and Tang periods. This architectural form was first introduced by Emperor Liang Wudi from the palace and continued to prevail until the eleventh century, when a gradual transformation occurred, resulting in the corridor evolving into a long, narrow image hall. This paper examines the ritual and pictorial programs of the Sui-Tang Buddhist corridor to gain insight into this transformation and its ceremonial significance. Specifically, it explores how the corridor was empowered by the state-sponsored maigre feast as a place of worship and how the monastic community of a particular school appropriated the space to celebrate an unbroken dharma-transmission lineage from the Buddha to a specific group of Chinese patriarchs. Lastly, the paper aims to comprehend the adaptation of the corridor into an image hall, which was influenced by political and religious shifts in the eleventh century when Buddhist monasteries were no longer designated as the ritual arena for the state-sponsored maigre feast.

Negotiating the salientization of identity: Hindu? Indian? American?

AbstractThis chapter starts by briefly decluttering how religion is defined through western theistic attributes, then explores students’ Hindu experiences while centering a counter socio‐religio‐cultural narrative of lived religion. I look into systemic institutional misalignments stemming from white Christian supremacy and lastly, aspects of student leadership on campuses. The chapter closes with critical reflections on scholar‐practitioner essays that address campus dynamics and my recommendations therefrom.Practical Takeaways Supporting Hindu students requires a deeper understanding of Hindu traditions’ sociological, historical, and geographical roots as well as its contemporary manifestations in the US American diaspora and its complex relations to transnational social constructs. Decentering white Christian manifestations in higher education settings for Hindu students can look like not requiring proof of “authenticity” for observances, alleviating programming and facilities hurdles, providing resources for physical spaces or offering reliable rides to places of worship, accommodating lacto‐vegetarian dietary needs, hiring dedicated staff that equitably enhance the internal diversity, and expanding interfaith engagements beyond Abrahamic faiths to include variably‐denominated Hindus. Developing inter‐functional‐area policies to redress multiple layers of marginalized religious, spiritual, and secular identities in their relations to other identities including race, caste, ethnicity, tribe, gender, (dis)ability, sexuality, and class. This includes critically interrogating internalized forms of oppression.

Exploring the Caves as Shelters, Sacred Spaces, and Photography Subjects

Caves are underground cavities with unique structures that form over time due to various forces, including geochemical and tectonic processes, water erosion, and hydrothermal activity. From past to the present humans have used caves for many different purposes such as shelter, dungeon, place of worship, cold storage, therapy, treatment of respiratory diseases, use of underground water, tourism, etc. Since caves are protected places, they are also the places where the oldest known works of art of mankind are located. The wide range of uses of caves, their dark and closed structures, and the different roles they have played throughout history, have always made them places of curiosity, discovery, and artistic creation. In this study, caves, which serve as shelters, were examined in terms of their role in human life, the emotions they evoke, their status as sacred places, and their representation through photography.

Collaborative Governance Sebagai Alternatif Pemerintah Daerah dan Perseroan Dalam Mengatasi Permasalahan Sektor Pertambangan: Studi Program TJSL Tambang Galian C PT. AMS di Kabupaten Banyuwangi

Mining activities always provide negative potential in environmental and social aspects. This can be identified in the emergence of community opposition to mining activities. To reduce this, mutually beneficial handling between the Company and the Community is needed, Thus, local governments have a role to create good and mutually beneficial relationships through Collaborative Governance policies. This study seeks to identify the concept of Collaborative Governance carried out in the implementation of the TJSL program at the C Quarry in Banyuwangi Regency through relations between local governments, mining companies, and civil society. Implementing a qualitative approach with the type of case study. Primary data contains observations, interviews, and documentation. Secondary data contains findings in journals, books, and other literature. The results of the study stated that Collaborative Governance in the mining sector carried out through the implementation of the TJSL program at the C Quarry in Banyuwangi Regency involved several stakeholders including the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, the Banyuwangi Regional Government, the Environmental Agency, Mining Companies, and Community Leaders. The mining company actualizes the TJSL principle which is carried out by implementing several programs, namely by contributing material funds to each hamlet allocated to the realm of places of worship, besides that the company is also responsible for all damage that occurs as a result of the activities of highly loaded mining trucks to road infrastructure, as well as sirtu mining material products allocated to community needs as building materials, thus creating a mutually beneficial relationship.

Public Service Accountability at the Youth Sports Service, Culture and Tourism of Majene Regency

The purpose of this research is to analyze the Accountability of public services in the Department of Youth Sports, Culture and Tourism of Majene Regency. The type of research used in this research is explanatory research. This research uses data collection techniques in the form of secondary literature studies with qualitative analysis techniques. The end result of this research is a description of the causal context or cause-effect relationship. The results of this research indicate that public service accountability is not yet optimal and needs to be improved in terms of visitor interview results and direct inspection of tourism sector facilities. The author found that tourist facilities such as places of worship, toilets and In addition, the consistency of levies set on each tourist attraction is not optimal, which differs from visitors, and there are still many waste scattered around tourist attractions, disrupting the comfort of visitors.

Empowerment and Assistance for Mosque Management to Create a Regional Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD) for the Ruhama Takengon Grand Mosque

Mosques are places where Muslims gather. Since the time of Rasulullah saw., mosques have been the basis for the development of Islam. However, currently, most mosques only function as places of worship, because mosque management is less than optimal and lacks innovation. Therefore, as academics with an Islamic education background, we strive to empower and assist mosque management. The location of the dedication is the Great Ruhama Takengon mosque. This service aims to empower and assist mosque management to realize the Great Ruhama Takengon Mosque as a UPTD Mosque. The service method is carried out using Participation Action Research (PAR) and participant observation in the sense that the service member is directly involved in the activity and becomes a resource person in the group discussion forum (FGD), as well as the service member being the perpetrator of the activity. The results of the service show that the mentoring program is very beneficial for the formation of the UPTD of the Ruhama Takengon Grand Mosque and needs to continue and even be improved until the issuance of the UPTD Decree from the Regent of Central Aceh

Menakar Tingkat Kepuasan Wisatawan: Kunci Keberhasilan Pengembangan Amenitas Pantai Slili sebagai Destinasi Wisata Bahari

Tourist satisfaction serves as a crucial indicator of successful tourism development. It is imperative for managers to periodically assess the tourism facilities to gauge the destinations' quality through the visitors' perspective. Therefore, this study endeavors to assess the level of tourist satisfaction regarding the tourism facilities at Slili Beach. A total of 100 respondents participated in the questionnaire, which was subsequently analyzed using descriptive quantitative methods. The findings revealed that tourists exhibited dissatisfaction with public toilet facilities and trash bins, with percentages of 42.25% and 38.75%, respectively. Conversely, tourists expressed contentment with rest area facilities, parking, and places of worship, with percentages of 51.34%, 47.71%, and 45.5%, respectively. However, the availability of disabled facilities left 61.5% of tourists significantly dissatisfied. These findings underscore the need for managers to address the discrepancies between tourists' expectations and the actual offerings at Slili Beach. Consequently, there is a pressing need for managers to enhance the quality of tourism facilities to ensure and bolster tourist satisfaction. Furthermore, future research endeavors could explore the correlation between tourist satisfaction and the inclination to revisit, providing managers with compelling reasons to continually improve the quality of facilities at marine tourism destinations.

The Independent Mosque Movement in Improving Empowerment Towards the Welfare of Muslims in Medan City, Indonesia

Mosques have an important role in the spiritual value of Muslims. The effort to transform the Mosque into a multifunctional center that contributes to the welfare of Muslims in Medan City is a step in restoring the center of Islamic civilization in the Mosque. This condition can be realized with the independence of the Mosque that does not depend on aid. The problems of welfare around the Mosque, infrastructure, and legal issues faced by the Mosque in Medan City are obstacles to bringing independence. Independent Mosques that aim for social welfare and economic development of the community around the Mosque have challenges in their development. The research method used in this study was descriptive qualitative and involved collecting data from interviews, observations, and document analysis. The research findings show that in strengthening the identity of Muslims, independent mosques have a positive impact on encouraging community welfare and overcoming social problems in the environment around the Mosque. The motivation of the Mosque manager determines the quality of service in providing education, economic empowerment, and health. The intensity of collaboration in encouraging independent Mosques can increase community independence and trust as a step towards making the Mosque not only a place of worship, but also a center of Islamic civilization. It is important to ensure the benefits of sustainable social impact by fulfilling the criteria of an independent Mosque in providing religious services and maintaining religious values.

Pilgrimage and State-Security: Visiting the Tombs of Tzadikim in the Socialist Hungary—Before 1989

Visiting the graves of the (Hasidic) Rebbes of Bodrogkeresztúr, Nagykálló, Olaszliszka, Sátoraljaújhely and other (Hasidic) places of worship are unique manifestations of Jewish popular religiosity in Hungary. These visits are mainly made on the anniversaries of the deaths of the great Rabbis (“Yahrzeit”). The literature does not pay much attention to the fact that these customs were still alive during the decades of Socialism, and even after 1957, although to a limited extent, foreign citizens also took part in these pilgrimages. The pilgrims were monitored by State security. The increase in the intensity of state security surveillance was not related to religiosity, but to the anti-Zionist state policy that emerged in Eastern Europe after the Six-Day-War, which saw all Jewish organizations as Zionism. The study gives an account of the Rabbis behind the custom, the religious significance of the visit and its role in local society. At the same time, it also shows how the memory of the Hasidic “wonder rabbis” was passed on during the decades of the Hungarian Socialist Kádár regime. Moreover it presents how (from the point of view of the Socialist regime) the pilgrimage (peregrinatio religiosa) and participating in it became elements of the power-relationship system and what it meant for the church politics of the period.

PENGARUH LINGKUNGAN EKSTERNAL TERHADAP MINAT BERWIRAUSAHA RUMAH MAKAN DI KELURAHAN PASAR TELUKDALAM

The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of the external environment on the entrepreneurial interest of restaurants in Pasar Telukdalam Village. The type of research is a quantitative type that is causal (cause and effect), with the population and sample being restaurants in Telukdalam Village as many as 32 people. Data collection techniques are questionnaires and documentation techniques. The analysis method is a simple regression analysis with a value of Y=9.598+0.777X. Based on the results of the hypothesis testing study with a calculated value of 7,020>ttable 1,697, it can be concluded that there is an influence of the external environment on the entrepreneurial interest of restaurants in Pasar Telukdalam Village. The suggestions of this study are (1) Restaurants should provide inadequate facilities such as places of worship, toilets, and wifi so that consumers are comfortable. (2) Restaurant business owners must have motivation so that their business grows.

Peatland aquifer zone modeling via Wenner and Schlumberger configuration geoelectric strategies in Tarai Bangun Village, Riau Province, Indonesia

The quality of freshwater in peatland areas poses significant concerns for both governmental bodies and local communities. Challenges arise during well drilling activities, where individuals often encounter difficulties in accessing fresh water, either due to its absence or contamination with peat-infused water. Tarai Bangun Village, situated in the Kampar Regency of Riau, represents a critical peatland region warranting thorough investigation, particularly along street of Sarana Utama. Despite lacking social amenities such as markets, the area is equipped with essential facilities like schools and places of worship. This study aims to assess the efficacy of Wenner and Schlumberger configuration modeling in horizontal and vertical soil mapping, thereby facilitating a comprehensive understanding of groundwater distribution and aquifer zoning within the peatland areas under examination. Analysis conducted utilizing Res2DInv software for horizontal modeling revealed significant findings. In track 1, groundwater layers were identified at depths of 6.50 meters and 19 meters, comprising gravel, sandstone, and limestone. Track 2 exhibited an aquifer layer spanning depths from 2.50 meters to 24.9 meters, consisting of alluvium, gravel, and limestone. Furthermore, interpretation of 1D geoelectric vertical model cross-sections using Progress software unveiled additional insights. Path 1 delineated depths of 0.12 meters, 19.30 meters, and beyond 41.28 meters, featuring a lithological composition of sandstone, limestone, and dry gravel. Path 2 showcased depths of 0.14 meters, 9.43 meters, and exceeding 12.02 meters, characterized by dry sand and gravel formations.

Assistance in preparing financial reports for houses of worship with ISAK 35 standards in Sorong

Houses of worship in Sorong City have not recorded financial reports according to standards and carry out bookkeeping using manual recording. Therefore, this activity aims to provide assistance in preparing financial reports for places of worship with the ISAK 35 standard. The method of implementing the service is carried out by giving presentations accompanied by direct interactive discussions between the implementing lecturer team and participants who come from members of the Religious Communication Forum in Sorong City. There are 30 partners involved in community service, consisting of 2 students, 3 lecturers, 5 administrators each of places of worship (churches, temples, mosques and monasteries) and 5 partners who assist in broadcasting worship. Based on the results of observations and interviews conducted by the service team using random sampling of participants, it can be concluded that implementing community service can provide new insights and knowledge for participants regarding the preparation of financial reports and an understanding of the importance of accurate and accountable reports. By taking part in assistance in preparing financial reports, apart from listening to explanations in preparing financial reports, the participants also held discussions regarding the obstacles faced in managing funds and reporting that is appropriate and easy to understand by users of financial reports and technology.

Penyediaan Media Informasi Tentang Pemeriksaan Kehamilan Dengan Kerjasama Lintas Program Di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Sungai Turak

Complications from pregnancy and childbirth as the highest cause of maternal death can be prevented by routine and regular pregnancy checks through antenatal care (ANC). ANC is also carried out with the aim of anticipating high risks during pregnancy. Analysis of the situation that education about pregnancy checks is only centralized at the Community Health Center. A broader outreach media is needed in providing education about pregnancy checks, so that the health level of pregnant women in particular, and society in general, can be better. This community service program seeks to expand the reach of pregnancy examination information media in the community. Efforts are made to create this information media involving cross-program collaboration, for example village officials, places of worship, schools and economic commercial places in Sungai Turak village. Activities will be carried out in December 2023 - January 2024 in the working area of the Sungai Turak Community Health Center. The posters that have been produced are then pasted in public places, Community Health Centers, Posyandu, village offices, village shops and prayer rooms.

Religious Tourism and Pilgrimage in Vâlcea County, South-West Oltenia Region: Motivations, Belief and Tourists’ Perceptions

Vâlcea County in the South-West Oltenia Region, Romania, has a great diversity of tourist destinations and boasts an impressive number of monasteries, churches and places of worship. This research aims to comprehensively investigate how tourists perceive the main reasons for visiting religious settlements and the frequency in Vâlcea County, situated in the South-West Oltenia Region, by employing a two-stage methodology to understand the interplay of demographic variables, travel behaviors and individual motivations, while utilizing GIS and SPSS for spatial and quantitative analysis. The two stages are: (1) the analysis of the specialized literature to identify the motivations, beliefs and tourists’ perceptions regarding religious tourism and pilgrimage and (2) statistical analyses and interviews with internal stakeholders (residents), which present their tourist and religious perspective on Vâlcea County. The research questions aim to provide a comprehensive understanding of the intricate interplay between demographic variables, travel behaviors and individual motivations within this distinctive context. The research significantly contributes to furthering our understanding of the behavior of participants in religious tourism and pilgrimage in Vâlcea County, highlighting that certain variables, such as gender, education level and occupation, may or may not significantly impact their preferences and choices. Geographical Information System (GIS) software was used to map the study area and, at the same time, the main places of worship that were visited by tourists. The SPSS (version 15.0) program was used to investigate and analyze the quantitative research data. The results reveal that, in Vâlcea County’s religious tourism and pilgrimage, gender, age and education level do not significantly impact travel choices or visit durations. However, occupation emerges as a crucial factor influencing transportation preferences, while respondents’ place of origin shows no significant association with the presence of accompanying individuals during religious visits. The current research was limited by its focus on a single case study of Vâlcea County in the South-West Oltenia Region and the scarcity of previous studies on religious tourism and pilgrimage in Vâlcea County.

Pengetahuan Masyarakat Desa Dajan Peken terhadap Pengelolaan Sampah Berbasis Sumber

Rapid population growth in urban areas has a significant impact on environmental quality, especially in waste management. Waste-related problems are a global concern, not only limited to urban centers, but also spreading to rural areas which require joint efforts. Responding to Bali Province's waste management directives, Dajan Peken Village in Tabanan Regency has started a waste management initiative involving the community. This research aims to assess the condition of waste in Dajan Peken Village which originates from various community activities and explore community knowledge about managing their household waste. The findings show that waste in this village comes not only from households but also from markets, kiosks, offices, schools and places of worship. Even though the community already has fairly good knowledge, ongoing outreach efforts and promotion of the 3R movement are still needed. This research provides localized insights, emphasizing the importance of sustainable waste management practices.
