Bone defects cause life-threatening risks and reduced quality of life. Researchers are advancing electrical stimulation technologies through sustained innovation to address these challenges. This review used a dual analytical approach integrating bibliometric analysis and expert modeling to systematically evaluate the evolution and trends of electrical stimulation in bone regeneration. A total of 2,069 publications from the Web of Science Core Collection met the inclusion criteria. Early-stage research focused on electrical properties of bone and electrical stimulation stimulator design. Recent trends show growing emphasis on novel material discovery and optimization for electrical stimulation applications. The field was undergoing rapid expansion, engaging growing numbers of countries, institutions, and researchers worldwide.

Cyclic fatigue in NiTi files: a bibliometric and science mapping analysis.

This study aimed to systematically map and analyze the scientific literature on the cyclic fatigue resistance of nickel-titanium (NiTi) rotary instruments, using bibliometric and science mapping techniques. Eight hundred eighty-one publications indexed in the Web of Science Core Collection between 1980 and 2024 were analyzed. Bibliometric performance indicators, keyword co-occurrence networks, thematic maps, and co-citation analyses were utilized. Data were processed using Bibliometrix, a comprehensive R-based science mapping software. Trends in publication volume, author and journal productivity, influential articles, thematic evolution, and international collaboration patterns were evaluated. There has been a steady increase in publication output over the last four decades, with a significant acceleration after 2010. Thematic mapping revealed that keywords such as "cyclic fatigue," "reciprocation," "heat treatment," and "fracture resistance" have been central to the field. Citation analysis identified key foundational studies frequently referenced in fatigue testing methodology. International research collaborations were most prominent among North American, East Asia, and European institutions. This bibliometric study underscores the clinical importance of innovations in NiTi rotary instrumentation, particularly for enhancing cyclic fatigue resistance. By identifying key research trends and thematic clusters, the study provides valuable guidance for clinicians and researchers aiming to optimize instrument durability, reduce procedural complications, and advance endodontic practice.

Outcomes of community health development/capacity building in community health by the nursing profession for public health: A scoping review.

This scoping review aimed to map the characteristics of outcomes arising from Community Health Development and Capacity Building in Community Health (CHD/CCH) conducted by public health-related nursing professionals and to identify the types of evidence that inform public health research and practice. Following Joanna Briggs Institute methodology and Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses Extension for Scoping Reviews (PRISMA-ScR) guidelines, we systematically searched PubMed, CINAHL, Web of Science Core Collection, and the Cochrane Library. Eligibility was based on the Population-Concept-Context framework: (a) community-dwelling individuals and communities, (b) CHD/CCH activities involving collaborative engagement with residents and stakeholders, and (c) nursing professionals engaged in public health practice. Quantitative, qualitative, mixed-methods studies, and gray literature were included without restrictions on language or publication year. Outcomes were synthesized according to follow-up period (short, mid, long term) and ecological level (micro, meso, macro). Thirty studies published between 1990 and 2024 were included. Of them, 14 used qualitative designs, 13 mixed methods, and 3 quantitative methodologies. Short-term evaluations primarily reported individual and organizational changes, whereas mid- and long-term studies demonstrated more complex, multilevel outcomes such as policy development, strengthened community networks, and enhancements to health and social service systems. Across ecological levels, 14 domains of community capacity were identified. Public health-related nursing practice contributes to multilayered community capacity building through CHD/CCH. However, gaps remain in quantitative evaluation and standardized outcome measures, underscoring the need for methodological advancement to reinforce the evidence base for community development in public health nursing.

A Survey of Automatic Sleep Staging: Technical Route, Technical Challenges, and Future Perspectives.

A complete human sleep consists of multiple states, each of which has its own unique and typical characteristics. A clear definition of these states lays a solid foundation for the study of related sleep disorders. However, there remain significant challenges in current research on human sleep. Focusing on the automatic staging of sleep states, this review is organized around the technical route, technical challenges, and future perspectives of sleep staging. First, 2044 records related to sleep staging were initially screened from the Web of Science Core Collection, and key methodological themes were identified through an initial screening. Second, more than 200 highly relevant studies were selected for review, and 174 of them were cited. Compared with previous surveys on automated sleep staging, in this paper, more attention is paid to the complete technical route, key technical challenges, data strategy, and future research trends. Special attention is given to the N1 stage, which represents the most challenging classification target due to both its inherent physiological ambiguity and low inter-scorer reliability under the current AASM framework. This review aims to provide a practically oriented and operationally actionable reference for researchers in the field.

Glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists in neurodegenerative diseases: a bibliometric analysis of global research trends and research hotspots from 2006 to 2025.

This study aimed to systematically characterize the global research landscape, collaboration patterns, knowledge structure, and emerging hotspots of glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists in neurodegenerative diseases using bibliometric methods. Publications related to glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists and neurodegenerative diseases were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection from 2006 to 2025. Only English-language articles and reviews were included. Bibliometric analyses were performed using Bibliometrix, VOSviewer, and CiteSpace to evaluate annual publication trends, country and institutional contributions, author collaborations, journal distribution, citation structures, keyword co-occurrence, thematic evolution, and citation bursts. A Scopus-based sensitivity analysis was conducted to assess the robustness of the main bibliometric findings. A total of 1,202 publications were included, with annual output increasing from 2 in 2006 to 241 in 2025, particularly after 2020. China, the USA, and England were the leading contributors and major collaboration hubs. Shanxi Medical University, Lancaster University, and the National Institute on Aging were among the most productive institutions, while major journals included International Journal of Molecular Sciences, Neuropharmacology, European Journal of Pharmacology, Frontiers in Endocrinology, Frontiers in Pharmacology, and Journal of Alzheimer's Disease. Keyword and citation analyses indicated a thematic shift from exendin-4, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and neuroprotection toward semaglutide, neuroinflammation, cognitive impairment, clinical efficacy, evidence synthesis, and combination therapy. Research on glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists in neurodegenerative diseases has expanded rapidly over the past two decades. Current bibliometric evidence suggests that this field has evolved from preclinical exploration toward broader translational and clinical research, with increasing attention to neuroinflammation, metabolic dysfunction, cognitive outcomes, and newer incretin-based therapies. However, the therapeutic implications of glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists for neurodegenerative diseases remain to be further validated by high-quality mechanistic studies and well-designed clinical trials.

Magnetic resonance imaging study of major depressive disorder: a 28-year scientometric and visual analysis.

Neuroimaging, particularly magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), has become a cornerstone in elucidating the neural underpinnings of Major Depressive Disorder (MDD). As the volume of related literature grows rapidly, a systematic, quantitative overview of the field's development, intellectual structure, and emerging trends is essential. This study conducted a scientometric and visual analysis of MRI research on MDD over the past 28 years (1997-2025) using data extracted from the Web of Science Core Collection. A total of 3269 publications were analyzed with CiteSpace and VOSviewer to map collaboration networks, thematic evolution, and research fronts. The results show a steady increase in annual output, particularly after 2006, driven by advances in 3T MRI and the pursuit of objective biomarkers. The United States and China are the most productive countries, while Harvard University and the University of California System lead institutional contributions. Co-citation and keyword analyses reveal a paradigm shift from localized structural/functional deficits toward network-based perspectives, alongside methodological evolution toward multimodal integration, dynamic analyses, and machine learning. Current research fronts focus on suicidal ideation, treatment prediction, and neuromodulation. This study provides a macroscopic overview of the field's trajectory, highlighting key contributors, thematic transitions, and future challenges in translating neuroimaging findings into clinical practice.

Frailty is a critical concern in the growing dialysis population. This study employs bibliometric analysis to map the knowledge landscape and identifyresearch hotspots regarding frailty in dialysis patients. We retrieved publications from the Web of Science Core Collection (January 1, 2007-February 8, 2025). After screening titles and abstracts, relevant articles were included for analysis. UsingCiteSpace software, we visually analyzedauthorship, institutions, countries, keywords, and burst keywords. A total of 243 articles were included.Annual publications showed a marked upward trend. TheUnited States was the leading country, with Johansen K.L. and the University of California System as the most influential author and institution, respectively. Keyword analysis revealed four central research hotspots:(1) frailty assessment, (2) interventions, (3) adverse outcomes, and (4) frailty in elderly dialysis patients.The analysis of burst keywords indicates thatfrailty assessment and its link to all-cause mortalityare the current research frontiers. This study conducted a comprehensive bibliometric analysis on research related to frailty in dialysis patients, revealing the research hotspots and trends in this field. It fills the gap in the panoramic view of frailty research in this high-risk subgroup and provides valuable references for future research in this area.

This study analyzed the publication characteristics, citation patterns, and research trends of the Turkish Journal of Orthodontics (TJO) since its Web of Science (WoS) indexing in 2017. A retrospective bibliometric analysis was conducted using data from the WoS Core Collection (2018-24) on April, 2025. Network analysis was performed using CiteSpace 6.3.R1 and VOSviewer 1.6.18. Descriptive statistics were used to analyze publication trends, authorship patterns, geographical distribution, and citation performance. A total of 244 publications were analyzed, comprising 192 (78.7%) original articles, 27 (11.1%) reviews, eight (3.3%) systematic reviews, and 17 (7.0%) case reports. The journal achieved an h-index of 15, with 1408 total citations and an average of 5.77 citations per article. Türkiye contributed the most publications (58.2%), followed by India (16.8%), the USA (6.6%), and Iran (5.3%). International collaboration involved 39 countries, and the most-cited article received 32 citations. The gender distribution of authorship was closely balanced: 52.2% female and 47.8% male. 94.7% of publications were multi-authored, with an average of 3.5 authors per article. Keyword analysis revealed thematic clusters dominated by clear aligners, malocclusion, cone-beam computed tomography, and dental materials. TJO shows consistent growth in publication volume, expansion of international collaboration, and increases in citation impact since WoS indexing. The journal successfully captures emerging trends in clear aligners and rapid maxillary expansion while maintaining coverage of fundamental orthodontic topics. A strategic editorial evolution toward systematic reviews indicates a commitment to evidencebased practice. This bibliometric overview offers a data-driven foundation for future editorial decision-making and monitoring the journal's evolving role within orthodontic research.
